About the role
Vulcan Materials Company seeks a dynamic and experienced Sales Representative to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position will focus on generating and maintaining business for a set of top assigned accounts.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for a set of top assigned aggregate, asphalt, and/or ready mix accounts in multiple markets, plant locations, or geographic areas.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for each assigned large account (may span multiple sales districts) and build mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders at each account.
- Prepare and execute account plans for each customer, organizing and facilitating planning conversations to increase share of wallet.
- Keep the Sales team well-informed of market and customer insights, leveraging Vulcan resources to understand market activity and make informed decisions.
- Lead customers through the customer sales lifecycle, continuously facilitating ease of doing business.
- Promote a safe environment, displaying the importance of a safe and supportive working environment for all Vulcan customers, coworkers, and competitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Experience: 5+ years of sales experience required.
- Relationship Management: Highly skilled relationship manager with the ability to build deep, mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning: Demonstrates the ability to set actionable goals for each account and achieve those goals.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to apply analytical concepts to complex business problems and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Product Expertise: Deep product expertise across Vulcan offerings, including aggregates, ready-mix, and asphalt.
- Selling Skills: Negotiating, influencing, and persuasive selling skills, with the ability to effectively execute sales plays for all customer segments.
- Conflict Management: Ability to resolve issues with large customers without damaging the overall relationship.
- Time Management: Ability to plan and organize work, balance multiple demands, and consistently follow up and follow through.
- Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment as an individual and as part of a team.
- Integrity: Displays the highest degree of integrity, personally inspiring trust of teammates and customers.
- Technology Skills: Proficient computer, tablet, and cell phone user, comfortable with Microsoft Office.
- Organization Skills: Ability to manage a complex set of daily tasks across customers in accordance with overall sales goals.
- Driving Skills: Ability to drive, possessing a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
