Senior Sales Engineer - Mainframe Security
Job Description Summary
The Senior Sales Engineering role will support Account Executives in new and existing partner relationships, as well as, direct business in order to grow revenue opportunities. For this role, you will need a sales and technical background in Mainframe Security.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Easily relate to customer challenges and provide clear, non-technical, value-based solutions.
- Present solutions to customers and partners with or without sales support.
- Support partners in all aspects of the sales process.
- Successfully convey technical details to a non-technical audience, as well as, foster credibility with more technical audiences.
- Provide knowledge and skills to help qualify business opportunities by understanding the user requirements and technical environment.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and guidance on all software components, design techniques, methodology and delivery concept to partners and peers.
- Handle objections professionally; answer questions quickly and coherently; deal with challenges assertively and persuasively.
- Self-manage assignments and administrative tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 8+ years of relevant sales advisory or sales engineering experience.
- Mainframe security experience with AS/400 / IBM i and z/OS technical experience.
- Mainframe Modernization experience.
- REST services and other application development skills and experience.
- Strong problem solving and requirements gathering skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated and comfortable taking on a variety of tasks in order to satisfy business requirements.
- Detail-oriented and can rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies.
- Able to work independently and engage team support as required.
- Able to prioritize and manage workload to meet defined deadlines.
- Must be comfortable working in a rapidly changing and sometimes unstructured environment.

Pay
Annual salary range for this position is between $105,000.00 - $141,750.00 gross before taxes.
