About the role
This role supports Ooma resellers pre-sale and through implementation for strategic AirDial POTS line replacement opportunities. Core responsibilities include technical solution design, compliance, and sales support.
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert on POTS line replacement, including deep knowledge of competitor products and features.
- Engage directly with code enforcement and AHJs on behalf of resellers to remediate compliance issues for life-safety AirDial deployments; conduct on-site demonstrations as needed to gain jurisdictional approval.
- Respond to customer cyber and risk assessment evaluations specific to AirDial deployments.
- Own proof-of-concept(PoC) deployments for strategic reseller opportunities.
- Lead technical sections of RFP responses for AirDial opportunities.
- Translate reseller requirements into formal product requests and maintain AirDial documentation for implementation and support teams.
- Develop and deliver AirDial technical training and demos for resellers, partners, and internal teams.
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to create market-specific content that differentiates AirDial.
- Utilizing AI to find new and innovative ways to streamline processes and automation.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience with communication systems supporting life-safety functions (fire alarm panels, elevators, areas of refuge, “red” phones).
- 3+ years hands-on installation and support of analog POTS and POTS line replacement solutions, including packet-based systems for life-safety communications.
- 2+ years of customer-facing IP network and VoIP advanced support in a cloud-based service provider environment.
- Direct experience responding to end-customer cyber and risk assessments.
- Direct experience with code compliance and enforcement at state, county, and municipal levels for fire-life-safety and elevator/lift communications.
- Strong telephony installation and low-voltage wiring skills (discovery, testing, termination, cable management).
- Working knowledge of fire panels, call boxes, and elevator controllers, including protocols and analog telephone interconnection.
- Detailed knowledge of fire-life safety compliance at NFPA, state, and local levels.
- Able to work flexible hours and travel to customer sites in North America on short notice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter requiring minimal day-to-day oversight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited institution in a technical discipline preferred; AA degree with relevant experience considered.
Skills
- Technical expertise in communication systems, particularly those supporting life-safety functions.
- Hands-on experience with analog POTS and POTS line replacement solutions.
- Customer-facing IP network and VoIP support experience.
- Experience with code compliance and enforcement at various levels.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Pay
The base salary range for candidates within the United States is listed below. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, specific location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
- $135,000 - $185,000 USD
Schedule
Regular employees may also be eligible for bonus(es), sales incentive(s) (target included in OTE) and/or stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
