Senior Sales Accountant
About the role
The Senior Sales Accountant is a member of a collaborative team with a focus on revenue accounting and serves as a business partner to dealer's sales offices. The position will take on a broad range of responsibilities related to accounts receivables, sales, art purchasing journal entries; reporting cash receipts in multiple currencies and making entries directly into the gallery ERP system; reconciliation of trial balance accounts including sales, sales tax, receivables, inventory, artist production and artist payables; reviewing and generating corresponding entries for recognizing sales according to GAAP; reporting sales to management; completing sales reports of gallery sales for artists; review of / revisions to customer statements and support to dealer's offices of customer account information. The position requires attention to detail and is responsible for publishing reports ready to go outside the gallery to artists, consignors and clients.
Responsibilities
- Review, release and post entries for sales, consignment, commission and inventory purchases, etc
- Generate and review artist's monthly/quarterly consignor/sales reports
- Work closely with colleagues to complete month end closing process, including posting of journal entries, preparation of account analyses
- Support midyear audit reviews and international year end audits
- Assist in the creation of new reporting capabilities
- Generate monthly state sales tax schedules for review, submission and payment
