Senior Safety Manager

About the role
The Senior Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety and has comprehensive knowledge of day-to-day safety field operations for assigned project(s). This role serves as the company’s point of contact for owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and Lemartec’s team for all safety-related matters. You’ll travel across the US (up to 100% of the time) to support infrastructure projects in various states, including PA, KS, NC, SC, VA, GA, TX, FL, IA, WY, and others.
Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct safety processes and training, including ongoing safety awareness, emergency response, and safety orientation for new employees.
- Create, deliver, and maintain all required OSHA written management processes, including recordkeeping per local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform daily site safety inspections and inspect safety equipment; remove defective equipment and manage fall protection inspection procedures.
- Establish a schedule for the preparation, submittal, review, and acceptance of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive JHA program through a tracking log.
- Handle accident reporting, investigation, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to near-miss incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Participate in root cause analysis for injury/incident investigations and obtain accident/injury reports from jobsites.
- Record and manage all site safety documentation and provide detailed weekly written reports.
- Implement company environmental policies in accordance with state/EPA laws and regulations.
- Recommend the purchase of safety equipment.
- Participate in safety pre-construction meetings and pre-work meetings.
- Facilitate mass safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings.
- Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.
- Manage and coordinate substance abuse testing and set up medical clinics for new jobsites.
- Facilitate Lemartec’s “return to work program” with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience.
- Previous management experience.
- OSHA 30 certification (minimum).
- Data center project experience (preferred).
Skills
- Extensive working knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, or other applicable codes.
- Demonstrated construction safety experience with field skill set.
- Advanced Safety/Industrial Hygiene Certifications (CHST) or ability to obtain CHST (preferred).
- Experience dealing with regulatory agencies, safety and health professionals, and legal representatives.
- Proven ability to manage safety in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Full knowledge and understanding of all local, state, and federal OSHA requirements and construction safety.
- Superior communication and organizational development skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document control programs (Procore).
