Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a project, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their daily activities.
- Attend initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives to define their roles within the project regarding safety.
- Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractor safety representatives and foremen to establish Beck’s Zero Accident Plan.
- Establish and conduct regular (weekly) safety meetings with subcontractor representatives to promote ongoing safety awareness and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to the construction industry.
- Help enforce Beck’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, including handling site drug testing.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with company standards and best practices.
- Conduct thorough investigations and analysis of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and contributing factors. Generate detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Deliver effective safety training sessions to employees at all levels, promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Develop and deliver safety orientation programs for new employees and trade partners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols.
- Assist in reviewing subcontractor safety training documentation, verifying compliance with company standards, and providing guidance as needed.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and training records.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improving safety performance and implementing preventive measures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills in construction safety.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction safety experience, with a demonstrated progression in responsibility and leadership.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926) for construction safety.
- OSHA 500
- College degree in a related field is desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in using construction technologies and software, such as Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, and Revit, is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment;
- Frequently ascends/descends ladders and stairs;
- Constantly works in various outdoor weather conditions;
- Frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site;
- Constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team;
- Able to constantly move around job site on uneven surfaces;
- Spend much of the day standing.
