Responsibilities
- Refines and updates safety publications, instructions, and manuals for compliance with public law and national standards.
- Improves safety considerations in non-safety publications.
- Researches and delivers technically accurate, actionable answers to staff members addressing safety questions.
- Contributes to improving the quality and accuracy of mishap reports.
- Contributes accurate, technically sound analyses of mishap causal factors.
- Maintains records for continuity of operations.
- Supports applicable safety, health, traffic safety, and outreach-related meetings.
- Accesses the client safety information system database to assist in developing reports and briefings.
- Responds to safety short notice/time-critical taskers, safety briefings, and presentations for client staff and higher headquarters.
- Provides recommended solutions for gaps, limitations, or safety deficiencies.
- Contributes to articles in support of the occupational, traffic, and mishap safety programs that may be published in newsletters, websites, journals, or other venues.
- Assists in planning, developing, and coordinating presentation materials for meetings and conferences.
- Assists with the planning, preparation, and execution of meetings and conferences hosted by the client.
- Supports Government teams working to maintain policy, procedure, and technical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in safety, industrial hygiene (IH), or environmental, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of work experience associated with the position.
- Able to obtain a successful adjudication of T-1 background investigation.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Excel pivot tables, graphs, functions, and arrays.
- Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
