About the role
This role focuses on employee accident prevention, executing occupational safety projects from start to finish at client sites. The position involves workplace and shop floor injury exposure assessments, safety program management evaluations, and continuous improvement support. While the primary technical area is Industrial/Occupational Safety, knowledge of Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene is desirable. The role includes project leadership, independent work, and delivering results within budget and timeframe.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational safety consulting services, including:
- Conducting shop floor observations to identify, assess, and risk-rank employee injury exposures.
- Devising solution options to mitigate injury exposures and assisting with implementation.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of implemented solutions and analyzing client injury trends.
- Coordinate and execute industrial safety projects in collaboration with Apex project managers, adhering to organizational procedures and standards.
- Design, implement, and execute service plans in close collaboration with clients, monitoring and reporting progress.
- Act as an advisor to clients on occupational safety issues and provide input on potential new EHS projects.
- Participate in business development activities as directed.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and stay updated on changes impacting the organization.
- Demonstrate strong technical writing, multitasking, and data management skills for report preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a science or engineering field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in occupational safety or employee accident prevention.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation is desirable but not required.
- Active Secret Security clearance highly preferred (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, aerospace, defense, or automotive industries is a plus.

- Powered Industrial Truck Safety
- Contractor Safety
- Broad spectrum OSHA Regulations understanding
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and creativity to negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with data management, report preparation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver’s license required.
