We are seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer II to join our Roadway Practice in Denver, CO to support the delivery of various Highway and Roadway projects.
About the role
- Performs and assists in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
- May supervise the production of engineering drawings.
- Carries out specific assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
- Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks, including:
- Collection and analysis of data using established procedures.
- Performance of routine calculations.
- Participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Participates on projects involving construction activities by:
- Reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications.
- Assisting in recordkeeping and generating progress reports.
- Observing relatively simple construction procedures and collecting samples for quality control testing.
- Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
- Prepares material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outlines, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
- Performs engineering calculations.
- Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Requirements
- BS and/or MS in Engineering.
- 8+ years of engineering experience.
- Must have highway/roadway design experience.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project financial management and team management skills.
- DOT experience is a plus but not required.
- Colorado PE (Professional Engineer) license required; additional state PE licensure recommended but not required.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and Open Road Designer required.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D recommended but not required.

Pay
Expected compensation range is between $110,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
