Senior Roadway Engineer
Job Description
Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Cook up with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
Aid in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- 8+ years of experience in roadway design engineering
- Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads)
- Intermediate skills with Excel (macros, equations)
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
