About the Role
The Senior Risk & Controls Analyst provides specialized business governance and control testing support. In this role, you will own the Operational Risk Management (ORM) controls testing cycle from start to finish, ensuring that active controls are effectively mitigating risk. We are looking for an adaptable, self-starting professional who thrives in fast-changing environments ("building the plane while flying it") and can manage multiple testing cycles simultaneously.
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- End-to-End Testing: Own the lifecycle of multiple concurrent tests, specifically conducting Design Effectiveness (DE) and Operating Effectiveness (OE) testing.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Conduct walkthroughs, send attestations, gather/test evidence, and document findings.
- Relationship Management: Work closely with internal Lines of Business (LOB) daily. Deliver and communicate control deficiencies professionally, constructively, and with "finesse".
- SLA & Deadline Adherence: Manage testing cycles (running approximately 3 months) to meet critical internal SLA milestones.
- Knowledge Sharing: Actively participate in team knowledge transfers, share best practices, and support a collaborative 10-person team environment.
Candidate Requirements
Must-Have Hard Skills:
- ORM & Controls Testing: Direct experience conducting Design and Operating Effectiveness (DE/OE) testing.
- Audit or Risk background: Strong background in Audit, Compliance, or Risk & Controls.
- Walkthrough Experience: Proven experience executing walkthroughs and documenting control environments.
- Prioritization: Exceptional ability to manage multiple testing engagements with competing deadlines.
Soft Skills:
- Communication & Finesse: High-caliber verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting findings to internal stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with evolving systems and processes.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Prior experience with ServiceNow.
- Prior experience in Banking, Lending, or Financial Services.
Pay & Schedule
- Location: 100% Remote (Working East Coast Hours)
- Work Hours: 8am to 5pm
- Hourly Pay: $45 - $52 per hour
- Duration: Through 12/31/2026 + possible extensions/conversion
- Experience Level: 4+ Years (Senior-level and highly experienced candidates are welcome)
- Education Requirement: Under-Graduate Degree (No certifications required)
