Senior, Risk Advisory Services
About the role
The Senior, Risk Advisory Services is responsible for providing risk consulting and issues resolution to clients in the areas of contract compliance, SOX, internal audit business process improvement, information technology, and fraud investigations. In this role, you will participate in all stages of a contract compliance, internal audit, or consulting engagement and provide assistance with planning, field work, engagement wrap-up, and report composition, along with recommendations regarding client economic and legal risks.
Services include examinations for royalties, revenue-sharing, franchise fees, profit participation, production cost, and merchandise licensing.
Responsibilities
- Act as primary contact for clients regarding basic questions and information.
- Conduct informational interviews and facilitate meetings with clients during the engagement process.
- Obtain information, documents, and data from clients to support analysis and research of client issues.
- Document and analyze the client’s processes, risks, and controls with guidance from senior Risk Advisory Services professionals.
- Review client contracts and develop contract summaries, including key provisions and financial information.
- Develop initial deliverables and/or solutions to client issues.
- Dynamically reassess risk and communicate with senior professionals and/or the client as necessary.
- Assist with the management of the engagement to ensure engagement metrics are achieved.
- Utilize research tools, databases, and trade publications to develop an understanding of the client’s industry.
- Develop relationships with client personnel and management members.
- Prepare formal and informal presentations for client meetings.
- Partner with Risk Advisory Services leadership to complete research and draft proposals and reports.
- Implement project plans, maintain documentation, and manage work papers associated with client engagements.
- Conduct risk assessments of assigned departments or functional areas in established timelines while overseeing staff.
- Establish risk-based audit programs.
- Determine the scope of review in conjunction with the Engagement Manager.
- Document financial reporting cycles or internal audit areas and identify key controls.
- Assess internal control design and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct audit testing of specified areas and identify reportable issues and dimensions of risk.
- Determine compliance with appropriate legislation and/or audit policies and procedures.
- Communicate findings to senior management and draft comprehensive reports of audited areas.
- Supervise the day-to-day workload of Risk Advisory Services Associates on assigned engagements and review work product.
- Ensure Risk Advisory Services Associates are trained on relevant audit software and engagement processes.
- Deliver periodic performance feedback and complete performance evaluations for Risk Advisory Services Associates.
- Act as a mentor to Risk Advisory Services Associates.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Two or more years of experience within a public accounting firm or industry environment performing internal audit, consulting, or risk services.
- Prior experience with internal controls, including flowcharts, documentation, and testing of controls.
- Experience with Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley, with a focus on entity-wide risk assessment.
- Experience performing contract compliance audits, specifically royalties and franchising agreements.
- One or more years of prior supervisory experience (preferred).
Qualifications
- CPA or CIA certification (preferred).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Prior experience with various assurance applications and research tools (preferred).
- Working knowledge of data analytics software such as IDEA or ACL (preferred).

Pay
Individual salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The following ranges apply:
- California: $85,000 - $100,000
- Colorado: $85,000 - $100,000
- Illinois: $85,000 - $100,000
- Maryland: $85,000 - $100,000
- Massachusetts: $85,000 - $100,000
- Minnesota: $85,000 - $100,000
- New Jersey: $85,000 - $100,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $85,000 - $100,000
- Washington: $85,000 - $100,000
- Vermont: $85,000 - $100,000
- Washington DC: $85,000 - $100,000
