Senior Revenue Analyst/Accountant
About the role
The Team Accounting at Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Revenue Analyst/Accountant to join our dynamic and innovative team. This role partners with various business organizations to streamline the Quote to Cash and revenue recognition process, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business organizations (FP&A, Sales Operations, IT, etc.) to streamline the Quote to Cash and revenue recognition process.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly entries for revenue, deferred revenue, and process reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain monthly RPO and ARR reporting data.
- Maintain and provide quarterly and annual audit support as requested by internal and external auditors.
- Work with the project team that is delivering enterprise-wide SAP Transformational Programs using SAP ERP Finance tools such as S/4 HANA.
- Perform semi-annual SSP (Standalone Selling Price) studies and ensure the automated allocation logic in SAP/S4 HANA remains compliant.
- Uphold and ensure compliance of SOX 404 key controls.
- Assist with other special projects, as needed.
- Drive institutional knowledge by proactively updating process documentation, workflow diagrams, and control narratives to support scalability and cross-functional transparency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Hardware, Software, and SaaS revenue guidance in US GAAP, with ASC 606.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Suite.
- Preferred qualifications include Big 4 accounting experience, prior knowledge in system implementation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), familiarity with SAP and Salesforce, and an ability to learn new languages and techniques.
Compensation
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here. $90,000.00 - $145,000.00/yr
