Job Summary The Senior Revenue Accountant Freelancer will lead the review of historical revenue recognition and help design and implement scalable processes going forward. This role will partner closely with Finance and the media teams to assess revenue treatment, identify risks and inconsistencies, and establish controls and procedures aligned with applicable accounting standards. The ideal candidate brings knowledge of revenue recognition, strong technical accounting skills, experience working in a media or advertising business, and the ability to translate complex issues into practical operational processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Historical Revenue Review Review historical revenue recognition practices across advertising and technology services vendors.Analyze billing and reconciliation files, contract details, and supporting documentation to assess appropriate revenue treatment and timing.Evaluate historical application revenue recognition and quantify potential impacts of revenue recognition issuesPrepare clear documentation supporting conclusions Process Improvement Assist in developing and implementing standardized revenue recognition policies, procedures, and workflows for current and future transactionsPartner with cross-functional stakeholders to improve review and revenue close processesRecommend and help implement process improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and compliance Collaboration and Leadership Serve as a key accounting partner to Finance, media teams, and Co-Founders (as needed) on revenue-related matters.Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to management. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting; experience in media, advertising, or agency environments is a plus Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingProficiency in Excel and Quickbooks OnlineStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlinesComfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
