- Drive automation and workflow improvements across global commissions and revenue accounting processes to improve speed, scalability, and precision.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales Operations, FP&A, and Revenue Accounting to ensure accurate and timely journal entries.
- Assist in determining global revenue recognition under ASC 606, supporting period-end close processes for revenue and billing, and managing balance sheet reconciliations as bandwidth allows.
- Support interim and annual audits by providing quantitative analysis and documentation for commissions and revenue matters while enforcing SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Evaluate accounting guidance for new sales compensation plans, SPIFFs, plan design modifications, and ad hoc revenue related matters.
- Support special accounting projects and process improvement initiatives across the broader Finance organization as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of relevant accounting, commissions operations, or revenue accounting experience within a global high-tech or SaaS company.
- Experience with US GAAP (ASC 606), revenue recognition principles, deferred contract costs, and SaaS industry practices.
Preferred qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- Experience with NetSuite and a commissions platform (such as CaptivateIQ, Spiff, Xactly, or similar).
- Experience optimizing and automating accounting processes and financial workflows.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, handle competing priorities, and maintain rigorous attention to detail.
