Senior Retail Pharmacy Tech

About the role

This is a job at a remote dispensing site within the Pharmacy Services department at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI. The schedule is full-time, 1.0 FTE days, Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Acquire clinical data to support Pharmacists and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for auditing, quality assurance sign-off with barcode scanning, controlled substance oversight, and coordinating special projects.
• Manage billing, including Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication. May monitor compliance with regulatory standards.
• Serve as a resource for automation technology, including training and involvement with IV workflow, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics.
• Provide advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail personnel.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registered, must be maintained.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Additional Preferences: Pharmacy technician experience required.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
