Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update 3D geological domain models and resource block models using Leapfrog Geo and geostatistical estimation platforms, ensuring models are current, auditable, and suitable for feasibility-level decision making.
  • Direct the technical scope and review deliverables of independent Qualified Person consultants for mineral resource estimations prepared in accordance with NI 43-101 and, where applicable, SEC S-K 1300 reporting standards.
  • Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to support resource classification and mine planning.
  • Integrate geometallurgical domains into resource models to support process design, recovery forecasting, and mine planning for both sulfide flotation and leach-amenable material.
  • Contribute resource model inputs to prefeasibility and feasibility study work, including resource classification confidence upgrades through targeted infill and condemnation drilling.
  • Conduct data validation, direct QA/QC procedures, ensure database integrity, and perform timely model reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with mine planning engineers to optimize mine designs and production schedules.
  • Develop and implement resource reconciliation programs to track model performance against actual production and grade control data as the project advances toward operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mine geologists and technicians.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage resource classification methodology, including variogram modeling, estimation validation, and confidence category assignments consistent with NI 43-101 category definitions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mining geology with a strong focus on resource estimation.
  • Professional designation (P.Geo., SME-RM, CPG, or equivalent) or eligibility required.
  • Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo for 3D geological and resource modeling.
  • Demonstrated competency with at least one geostatistical estimation platform for variography, estimation, and model validation.
  • Strong understanding of geostatistics and mineral resource estimation techniques.
  • Direct experience with porphyry copper deposits, including an understanding of deposit-scale geological controls, alteration zoning, domain definition, and grade continuity.
  • Experience with both open pit and underground mining methods.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, managing, and interpreting resource definition and infill drilling programs, including drill targeting, collar surveying, logging standards, and integration of results into updated resource models.
  • Proficiency with acQuire or equivalent geological database management systems, including QA/QC protocol design, data validation workflows, and compliance with corporate database standards.
  • Experience contributing resource model inputs to Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Prefeasibility Studies (PFS), or Feasibility Study technical reports.
  • Strong leadership skills with a desire to mentor and develop site staff.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.
