Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer (Structures) to join their Construction Management team. This role involves overseeing structures construction work, ensuring alignment with plans and specifications, and maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of all falsework elements
  • Ensure project specifications are faithfully executed
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project activities
  • Keep everyone in the loop with written progress reports and technical insights
  • Work hand-in-hand with contractors to coordinate tasks and ensure a smooth workflow
  • Manage project documentation and ensure contract compliance
  • Review contractor pay estimates and submittals for accuracy
  • Lead field inspection and support staff, sharing expertise and fostering growth
  • Uphold and enforce construction safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction manager, or closely-related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • P.E. license or CCM credential required, with at least 15+ years of experience in complex bridge construction
  • Previous experience as a Structures Representative on at least two bridge projects with a minimum construction value of $20 million
  • Strong ability to write effective and concise reviews and reports
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to liaise with Contractors and other team members to resolve field issues
  • Previous construction management experience for Caltrans projects or projects with Caltrans oversight is strongly preferred

Additional Information

Base compensation range for this position is $185,000 - $235,000 annually.
