Senior Resident Architect

About the role

This role will lead operational priorities focused on execution quality, efficiency, safety, and measurable performance outcomes. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic customer engagements to apply the company and observability practices
• Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to communicate the company’s value
• Act as a trusted advisor on telemetry schema and data modeling
• Advise on Sampling strategies balancing cost and operational insight
• Coach and mentor engineering teams on observability and SRE concepts
• Help customers establish data ownership and documentation standards
• Troubleshoot complex issues with both technical and sociotechnical solutions
• Create reusable content like trainings, blog posts, and reference architectures
• Represent customer insights in engineering and product discussions
• Stay updated on the company technologies and observability trends

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of OpenTelemetry and its ecosystem
• Strong intuition for effective telemetry data modeling
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and CI/CD processes
• Previous software development or system operations experience, ideally with distributed systems
• Proficient in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, Java, or .NET
• Excellent technical communication skills for varied audiences

Pay

$155,000 – $185,000 annually
