About the role

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and advancing cancer research? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a motivated Senior Research Nurse to join the Beatson Clinical Research Facility team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine clinical expertise with research excellence, supporting patients participating in innovative cancer studies that help shape future treatments.

Working within one of the UK's leading cancer centres, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to cutting-edge research, and play a vital role in improving outcomes for patients across the West of Scotland. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Schedule

Full time, Fixed term for 2 years

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Location

You will be based at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality direct and indirect patient care for individuals participating in cancer research studies
• Coordinate and manage a caseload of research participants across a variety of clinical settings
• Support the delivery of clinical trials in line with research protocols, governance requirements and Good Clinical Practice standards
• Educate and support patients and families throughout their research journey, ensuring informed decision-making and an excellent patient experience
• Collect, record and manage research data accurately while maintaining patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance
• Provide clinical leadership, contribute to service development and support the education of colleagues and multidisciplinary teams
• Work collaboratively with investigators, research teams and partner organisations to ensure the successful delivery of studies

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with relevant post-registration experience
• Significant experience within a cancer, oncology, haematology or related clinical setting
• Relevant post-registration qualifications and/or substantial experience within a specialist clinical area
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, carers and colleagues
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workload effectively and manage competing demands
• Knowledge and understanding of clinical research processes, governance frameworks and evidence-based practice
• Experience supporting service improvement, education, research activity or quality improvement initiatives would be advantageous
