About the role
YouTube Data Science is dedicated to enhancing data-driven decision-making to improve YouTube. Within this division, CoreX Data Science collaborates with CoreX Engineering and Program Managers teams to optimize core YouTube experiences and applies data science to enhance user engagement and growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis using relevant tools (SQL, R, Python).
- Solve business problems, refining multiple options into the best approach.
- Build new processes, procedures, and components to understand the relationship between ads and organic engagement on YouTube.
- Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews with cross-functional leadership.
- Translate analysis results into actionable business insights or product improvements.
- Develop expertise in Google data structures and metrics, advocating for necessary changes in product development.
- Define and oversee key concepts like ad load, sensitivity, relevance, and user impact, analyzing these across the YouTube platform.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding, querying databases, or statistical analysis.
- 5 years of experience using Python for statistical programming.
Preferred qualifications
- 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (Python, R, SQL).
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 3 years of work experience with a PhD degree.
- 5 years of experience using Python for statistical programming.
Benefits
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $174,000 - $253,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
