Senior Research Chemist

Responsibilities

• Works with Research Scientists and R&D Managers to evaluate existing and new chemistries, processes, or applications related to Indovinya products in a safe manner.
• Works independently to accomplish small to large projects around their lab focus area.
• Maintains projects status, documents, and equipment.
• Runs small to large sized experiments independently.
• Analyzes samples by analytical methods or application testing.
• Maintains an understanding of Indorama products and applications while supporting Research Scientists.
• Works to complete projects in the US project pipeline.
• Supports R&D Lab Manager with properly managing lab resources.
• Maintains records to support patent applications for innovative products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering required.
• Bachelor's degree in other science field plus 2+ years in research laboratory work, or Associate’s degree with 5+ years in research laboratory work.
• 10+ years’ experience in R&D laboratory work (15+ years preferred).
• Surfactants knowledge preferred.
• Experience with Parr Reactors preferred.
• Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, wet analysis, or other analytical techniques preferred.
• Formulation experience in personal care and colored cosmetic formulation, prototype developments required.
• Experience with stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product quality, safety, and shelf-life routines for personal care required.
• Experience with scale-up processes, formulation optimization preferred.
• Computer literacy with databases, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated presentation skills preferred.
• English required; bilingual Portuguese or Spanish strongly preferred.
