About the Role
A Senior Research Assistant will support preclinical studies at all stages through internal procurement and execution of cardiac, behavioral, and muscle-based functional outcomes to characterize rodent models and assist in testing drug efficacy. The role requires multitasking, strong communication, organization, and documentation in accordance with GLP. Tasks must be performed per SOPs and study specifications, with the ability to work independently and demonstrate proficiency in rodent handling.
Responsibilities
- Execute basic functional outcomes including open-field assessment, rotarod, grip strength, gait analysis, plethysmography, and ECG.
- Execute high-level functional outcomes including muscle physiology and ultrasound.
- Execute internal study procurement plans.
- Perform Functional Outcomes data analysis and input.
- Assist in ordering and stocking inventory.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Support Animal Science teams through cross-functional collaboration.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Study Protocols.
- Document with strict adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Handle rodents humanely and confidently.
Requirements
- Associate degree with 2+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree (scientific field preferred).
- Passion for animal welfare.
- Experience in laboratory animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Ability to work as part of a team with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in following laboratory methods and SOPs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Pay
The targeted salary range for this position is $59,200 - $74,000 per year. The salary offer considers factors including education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of the role, and internal equity.
This position requires on-site work at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sarepta Therapeutics offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
