Senior Remediation Manager, EHS
Responsibilities
Provide oversight and direction to consultants and contractors responsible for executing projects for a portfolio of sites.
Manage multiple projects of varying complexity and shifting priorities.
Guide technical implementation of assessment and remediation projects to achieve the desired objectives.
Manage project budgets, expenditures, and schedules.
Review remediation strategies and site reserves on a minimum annual basis.
Oversee contractor pre-qualification, bidding, selection, and contract award process for projects.
Engage with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to secure acceptance and approval of project strategies in a timely manner.
Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
Maintain records in conformance with Howmet’s remediation recordkeeping and project management systems, environmental regulatory requirements, and Howmet procurement requirements and accounting standards.
Design, implement and prepare various periodic reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in engineering (civil, environmental, chemical), physical science (geology), or business from an accredited program. A minimum of 7 years of progressive environmental remediation experience with proven successes in site characterization, remedial design and implementation, and cost-effective long-term Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple environmental remediation projects and associated budgets concurrently; overall multi-project management experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of management of staff and/or oversight of consultants.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in environmental engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or other relevant professional certification. Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, metals, chemical, aerospace, or corporate environmental organization. Experience with human health and ecological risk assessments. Acquisition and divestiture experience, including retained liabilities. Solid understanding of remediation regulatory programs and requirements, including state programs, RCRA (US Law: Resources Conservation and Recovery Act), and Superfund. Proven expertise and problem solving in the assessment and remediation of sites with chlorinated solvent contamination. Experience with developing and implanting site strategies and remediation reserve estimates. Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
Pay
Salary Range: $130k - $160k/year approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/org. location).
