About the role
Leads client management activities with clients and prospective clients. Responsible for the development and execution of a relationship management plan to acquire and retain clients, ensuring an ongoing exceptional client experience. Manages a book of business and may assist in developing team members.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with team to determine action plans through thorough discovery of client needs to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Consistently reviews needs assessment with clients to determine changes and ensure strong client commitment and advocacy by delivering proactive and responsive service to meet client goals.
- Holds team accountable for deliverables and ensures growth of the book of business through client expansion and new client acquisition.
- Develops and executes strategies for proactively sourcing new relationships for the bank, including communication and contact with existing clients to capture expansion opportunities.
- Expands external network for business development and manages risk through appropriate client selection, ensuring service delivery aligns with fees charged.
- Works with risk partners to escalate and resolve client concerns quickly, leveraging well-developed knowledge of partner offerings to make business-appropriate introductions.
- Ensures accountability to partners for follow-up and client communication after initial introduction.
- Maintains timely, accurate, and complete sales/client relationship management administration tasks as determined by the business.
- Ensures execution of team processes, such as pre-call planning, post-call debriefs, and relationship reviews.
- May train, coach, and/or mentor other team members and participate in special projects to strengthen the overall business.
Requirements
- Well-developed knowledge of all business segment capabilities and offerings.
- Demonstrated ability in client relationship management, decision-making, financial analysis, and identifying sales opportunities.
- Strong competencies in communicating for impact, influencing, managing multiple priorities, and value selling.
- Customer-focused with the ability to align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in business decisions.
- Ability to assess and manage risks effectively, adhering to PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a university/college degree; higher-level education such as a Master’s degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.
- Industry-relevant experience of 8+ years is typically required; specific certifications may also be necessary.
- In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
