Drive branch success through exceptional member service, strong sales performance, and operational support. This role develops future leaders while maintaining a focus on member engagement and financial solutions. Build relationships through consultative conversations, identify needs, and recommend products. Handle complex transactions and support various branch functions with flexibility. As an informal leader, mentor peers, assist with training, and support management in coaching. Model service excellence, ensure compliance, and foster a positive team culture.

This role is eligible for a language stipend of $200/monthly after 90 days of employment.

Pay

$21.42 - $28.12/hour, dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide escalated operational support to Branch Leadership and the team, including opening and closing the branch, transactional overrides, de-escalating member complaints, and maintaining team engagement in the absence of a leader.
  • Assist in overseeing the day-to-day work of others, including scheduling, training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Demonstrate expertise in policy and procedure with elevated decision-making skills.
  • Obtain training in Financial Coaching and conduct meetings with members as their Financial Wellness Coach to help set financial goals, navigate challenges, and build sustainable habits.
  • Understand credit scores and reporting to identify sales opportunities.
  • Advise members on debt management, credit advancement, mortgage, and overall financial well-being.
  • Perform sales, service, and operational functions in the branch, delivering unsurpassed service to build long-term member loyalty.
  • Process a variety of transactions promptly and accurately, including deposits, transfers, withdrawals, and account maintenance (new accounts, IRAs, CDs, loans).
  • Handle routine to complex member inquiries, including business and fiduciary accounts, power of attorney, and compliance reviews.
  • Resolve member requests, problems, and complaints or direct them to the appropriate person or department.
  • Educate and support members on self-service and digital options (mobile app, website, ITMs).
  • Partner with Wealth Managers, Business Bankers, and Mortgage Loan Officers to connect members with specialized financial needs.
  • Build and optimize your network and pipeline to meet or exceed monthly performance metrics through outbound calls, networking, and local business visits.
  • Attend events representing Vantage West, including sponsorships, community outreach, and financial wellness initiatives.
  • Actively seek and apply feedback to improve performance and member experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of similar retail banking experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Strong leadership skills; leads by example.
  • Ability to work in an agile, goal-oriented environment.
  • Effective team player: cooperative, flexible, and dependable.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Proven success in consultative sales within financial services or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Strong mathematical, computer, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and coaching employees.
  • Must comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Must obtain a license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and notary public certification.
