About the role

As a Relationship Banker (RB) at Simmons Bank, you will build, expand, and retain client relationships while delivering an exceptional experience. You’ll provide expert financial solutions by assessing needs and offering bank products and services to help clients achieve their goals. Relationship Bankers market Simmons solutions through daily interactions, outbound calls, business visits, networking events, and periodic ‘At Work’ events. You’ll achieve individual and branch goals while serving as a professional and positive ambassador for Simmons Bank.

All Relationship Bankers receive the same training on products, services, and needs-based conversations. Revenue expectations increase from RB I to RB II, and Sr RB, with the Senior Relationship Banker also serving as a liaison for operational items and demonstrating strong delegation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Share and recommend the bank’s full scope of resources, including in-branch services, digital capabilities, and business partner resources.
  • Meet individual goals through in-person and outbound calling activities to share solutions using a needs-based approach.
  • Perform account opening and closing functions, assist with account selection, conduct research, and comply with BSA and CIP requirements.
  • Facilitate consumer loan requests, maintain knowledge of loan policies, assist with branch loan portfolios, and coach staff on handling loan requests (Sr RB only).
  • Uncover customer needs and refer them to partner teams for small business, corporate, institutional, mortgage, and financial advisory services.
  • Maintain high client satisfaction by delivering an optimal customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, including completing required training.
  • Process customer requests and transactions accurately while identifying needs and recommending solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of customer-facing and goal-oriented experience.
  • Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and/or obtain an NMLS license after employment.
  • Occasional travel for meetings, training, bank conversions, or acquisition support (minimal overnight or out-of-town travel).

Skills

  • Ability to motivate and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Embrace a team-centric approach to support customers in a fast-paced banking environment.
  • Coach and lead the branch team in the absence of an Assistant Financial Center Manager (AFCM).
  • Met or exceeded individual goals for the most recent 3 of 4 quarters.
  • Conduct team kickoff meetings and training sessions with branch leadership guidance.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for branch products and services.
  • Work with branch leadership to reinforce training for junior associates.
  • Under the direction of the Financial Center Manager, coach transactional associates on conversation starters and referrals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and social media platforms for brand awareness and market knowledge.
