Senior Relationship Banker
About the role
As a Relationship Banker (RB) at Simmons Bank, you will build, expand, and retain client relationships while delivering an exceptional experience. You’ll assess financial needs and offer solutions through bank products and services to help clients achieve their goals. Relationship Bankers market Simmons solutions to existing customers and prospects through daily interactions, outbound calls, business visits, networking events, and periodic ‘At Work’ events. You’ll achieve individual and branch goals while serving as a professional and positive Simmons Ambassador.
All Relationship Bankers receive the same training on products, services, needs-based conversations, and tools. Positions are tiered (RB I, RB II, Sr RB) with increasing revenue expectations. Senior Relationship Bankers also act as operational liaisons with strong delegation skills.
Responsibilities
- Recommend the bank’s full scope of resources, including in-branch services, digital capabilities, and business partner resources.
- Meet individual goals through in-person and outbound calling activities, using a needs-based approach to share solutions.
- Open and close accounts, assist with account selection, perform research, and comply with BSA and CIP requirements.
- Facilitate consumer loan requests: solicit loans, maintain knowledge of policies, assist with branch portfolios, and coach staff (Sr RB only).
- Refer customers to partner teams for small business, corporate, institutional, mortgage, and financial advisory services.
- Maintain high client satisfaction by providing an optimal customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, including required training.
- Process customer requests and transactions accurately while identifying needs and recommending solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to motivate and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Embrace a team-centric approach to support customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Coach and lead the branch team in the absence of an Assistant Financial Center Manager (AFCM).
- Met or exceeded individual goals for 3 of the last 4 quarters.
- Conduct team kickoff meetings with guidance from branch leadership.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for branch products and services.
- Guide and reinforce training for junior associates under branch leadership.
- Coach transactional associates on conversation starters and referrals under the Financial Center Manager’s direction.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of customer-facing, goal-oriented experience.
- Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) required; obtain an NMLS license after employment.
Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Understanding and use of social media platforms for brand awareness and market knowledge.
Other Requirements
- Occasional travel for meetings, training, bank conversions, or acquisition support (minimal overnight/out-of-town).
- Ability to provide support and guidance at other banking institutions within the market.
