About the role
The Senior Regulatory Royalty Reporting Analyst will support royalty processing, regulatory reporting compliance, and revenue accounting activities for upstream oil and gas properties. This onsite contract role requires strong hands-on expertise with SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA) and ONRR Form 2014 royalty reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support royalty reporting activities within SAP PRA.
- Prepare, validate, and submit ONRR Form 2014 royalty reports in accordance with federal regulations.
- Analyze royalty calculations and ensure reporting accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate and resolve reporting discrepancies, audit findings, and reconciliation issues.
- Partner with Revenue Accounting, Production Accounting, Land, Regulatory, and IT teams to ensure accurate data integration and reporting.
- Perform royalty owner, federal lease, and tribal lease reporting reviews.
- Support month-end and year-end royalty reporting processes.
- Assist with system testing, enhancements, and process improvements related to SAP PRA and royalty reporting.
- Provide documentation and reporting support for internal and external audits.
- Maintain compliance with ONRR regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Energy Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in oil and gas revenue accounting and royalty reporting.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Production Revenue Accounting (PRA).
- Direct experience preparing and filing ONRR Form 2014 royalty reports.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and tribal royalty regulations.
Skills
- Experience with revenue accounting reconciliations and royalty calculations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Prior experience working with upstream oil and gas operators preferred.
- Experience supporting royalty audits and regulatory inquiries preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA migration or system enhancement projects preferred.
- Understanding of gas plant allocations, production accounting, and revenue distribution processes preferred.
