Senior Registration Representative

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensures excellent customer service when assisting patients, providers and other departments
• Collections copays and patient OOP payments for ER services
• Collects and updates patient demographic and insurance information, making changes as necessary to ensure accuracy
• Handles more complex cases and assists with additional needs pertaining to insurance benefits
• Verifies insurance eligibility for scheduled services utilizing internet sites, payer contacts, and software as appropriate
• Affirms coverage and benefits and accurately determines patient responsibility
• Identifies self-pay patients and shares estimate information with financial counseling for assistance with patient financial obligation and options
• Refers patients and/or staff with issues or concerns to supervisor
• Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of insurance plans, associated workflows and information and the impact of this role within the revenue cycle
• Supports management and other tasks to ensure accuracy, limit denials, and increase productivity of the team

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of patient access experience in a hospital registration department, physician office or any medical setting
• 1+ years of medical terminology experience
• 1+ years of health insurance experience
• Intermediate level of proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications and the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
• Ability to work Monday - Friday, from 8:00am - 4:00pm
• Ability to work on call once per week, from 7:00am - 7:00pm
• Ability to work weekends on a rotating basis, per business need
• Full Flu vaccination is an essential job function of this role

• The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment
