Senior Registered Engineer / Project Manager, Electrical

About the role

The Senior Professional Electrical Engineer will work on a variety of industrial projects, collaborating with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and structural engineers. Responsibilities include scoping and leading electrical engineering tasks, developing site plans, and supporting construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop site plans, power/signal/lighting plans, equipment layouts, one-lines, industrial controls, assessments, and reports
• Support construction administration, interpreting plans, observing construction, and confirming compliance with plans, specifications, and schedule
• Mentor less experienced team members and help develop the next generation of engineers
• Lead engineering and design teams, owning the technical, quality, financial, and safety aspects of projects from concept through construction
• Partner with electrical group management and the VP of Facilities Engineering Services on proposal development, client relationships, opportunity tracking, and client presentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
• PE with 10+ years of progressive technical design experience in industrial facility/site power distribution, lighting, and control/signal systems
• 2+ years managing electrical or multi-disciplined projects with service fees exceeding $300,000/year
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and MS Office
• Experience coordinating design standards across disciplines (Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Structural)
• Construction administration experience, including observation and inspection
• Strong communication skills, comfortable writing specs, preparing reports, and leading project discussions
• Ability to travel up to 15% for meetings, consultations, and site inspections (occasional overnight travel)
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Qualifications

• Professional registration in multiple states
• Nice to have: Experience responding to RFPs, business development track record, design experience with medium voltage (13.8kV) site power distribution, experience with synchronous motor installation, startup, and analysis, experience with P&IDs, loop sheets, and instrumentation/control panel work, experience configuring or programming PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation, experience with medium voltage switchgear relay setup and configuration, experience troubleshooting electrical equipment and power quality issues, working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and Revit

Pay

The listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 10 - 20 years of related experience in Minneapolis. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Provided salary does not include additional compensation, such as TKDA's ESOP and bonus program.
