Job Responsibility
- Mentors and trains team members.
- Accurately and responsively performs varied and moderately complex clinical tasks.
- Assists team members with more complicated procedures and tasks.
- Determines methods and procedures for new tasks with clinical team members and department or unit management.
- Collaborates with senior team members to develop/validate methods, techniques, and analytical approaches.
- Interviews patients and/or family for nutritional history, obtains food preferences, assesses patients, and documents in patients' medical record.
- Conducts assessments of patients' medical records according to hospital policies and procedures, and recommends nutrition care plans to medical staff for review and consideration.
- Communicates therapeutic diet modifications and/or supplemental feedings to physicians for patients, ensuring accuracy of diet orders.
- Provides nutritional guidance, education, and counseling to patients and their families in accordance with prescribed diets.
- Calculates nutrient content of tube feeding and dietary intakes as ordered by physicians.
- Develops and utilizes effective lines of communication regarding nutrition information within the program and community.
- Guides and provides in-services to culinary, food service, and interdisciplinary teams regarding therapeutic diets and related topics.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement related tasks, including data collection and recommendations on new processes, tools, and tasks.
- Assists and participates with regulatory compliance.
Job Qualification
- Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience, required.
- Current Registered Dietitian Certification with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, required.
- Certified Dietitian Nutritionist in New York State (CDN), as needed.
- Advanced/specialized certifications, as needed.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
- Oncology experience, highly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $75,020.00 - $126,250.00/year.
