About the role

The Senior Regional Liaison on the County Engagement team at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with community leaders in a designated cohort of North Carolina counties. This role serves as the main point of contact for community leaders, overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of processes, programs, and policies. Approximately 80% of the time will be spent in the community, requiring travel throughout the assigned counties: Jones, Craven, Beaufort, Washington, Tyrell, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico, and Carteret. The candidate must live in one of these counties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic, community-focused initiatives that advance Blue Cross NC’s brand and business objectives, including member outreach and retention activities.
  • Collaborate with principal program managers for public health and faith-based initiatives to implement strategies at the local level.
  • Work with other business-facing divisions to achieve business objectives and curate accurate health plans.
  • Train and lead entry-level County Engagement teammates to build a highly skilled team.
  • Build and implement programs to enhance relations with the local community and improve healthcare accessibility and quality.
  • Understand emerging healthcare issues and communicate county-level work through thorough reporting and internal communication.
  • Manage policies, procedures, projects, and programs to ensure deliverables and objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required); in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Must currently live in one of the following counties: Jones, Craven, Beaufort, Washington, Tyrell, Dare, Hyde, Pamlico, or Carteret.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse groups.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and understand target audiences and their specific program needs.
  • Proven knowledge of policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience utilizing reports and records to track progress and modify methodologies to attain goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, make informed decisions, and resolve issues within the program.

Pay

Base salary range: $81,068.00 - $129,708.00. Compensation decisions are driven by experience, training, specialized skill sets, licensure, certifications, and business needs. The starting salary is typically planned near the middle of the range. This role includes a robust Total Rewards package with an Annual Incentive Bonus based on corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
