Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Consult and collaborate with the USG agency's talent acquisition management to develop forecasting models to create recruitment strategies, to include development of alternative strategies.
  • Measure and realign forecasting model as necessary.
  • Function as a technical resource, facilitator and leader in the process of identifying recruitment priorities; develop recruitment programs and facilitate implementation and management of these programs.
  • Afford oversight of the development and interpretation of recruitment policy and procedures.
  • Develop metrics to monitor specific aspects of recruitment programs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Guide the establishment of customer feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide recruitment statistics to senior management.
  • Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures.
  • Develop recruitment strategies with recruiters and hiring officials to identify and plan recruitment events.
  • Establish goals and objectives on an annual basis in conjunction with the development of program hiring requirements.
  • Provide guidance on the use of recruitment techniques such as career fairs at target schools, newspaper and Internet ads, job fairs at professional and technical conferences, area recruitment blitzes and other available opportunities.
  • Ensure that materials and logistical arrangements for recruiting programs and events are prepared and staff officers assisting with the event are notified of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs.
  • Assist in the oversight of the processing of interview reports from recruiters and hiring advisors.
  • Assist USG agency personnel in their preparation for conducting interviews, using behavioral based techniques with applicants to determine whether those individuals meet the criteria established against hiring requirements and make recommendations regarding hire decisions to the hiring officials.
  • Provide guidance on conditional employment offers based on applicant's resume and results of the interview to recruiters and hiring advisors.
  • Work with talent acquisition senior management and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) on special hiring case requests.
  • Arrange for interviews and provide travel arrangements as necessary.
  • Assist with the screening and the referring of applicants to hiring personnel in the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of employment law, particularly the provisions of the Rehabilitation Act, the Civil Rights Act and major court decisions that pertain to employment.
  • Ability to obtain thorough knowledge of the USG agency's compensation system and employee benefits.
  • Ability to obtain thorough knowledge of the organization-its mission, structure, culture, activities relationship to the rest of the Community.
  • Ability to obtain considerable knowledge of the organization's recruitment strategies, hiring requirements and employment processes.
  • Considerable knowledge of the information maintained in RESUMIX, R282 and other Recruitment databases and the ability to use this information to coordinate the efforts of the division.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work on routine assignments independently.
