About the role

The Senior Real Estate Specialist is a member of Real Estate’s Lease Administration team responsible for managing and administering Nordstrom’s entire portfolio (retail, warehouses, storages, distribution/fulfillment centers, and offices). They report key data and critical dates, maintain the system of record, abstract leases, and develop business relationships with local store teams, regional teams, property managers, and landlords.

Responsibilities

  • Process, distribute, and maintain real estate documents and hard copy records via asset management software and filing systems.
  • Routinely route department notices, correspondence, and reports (Lucernex) to appropriate internal teams.
  • Interpret lease terms for cross-functional partners and assist with property management and maintenance inquiries.
  • Draft lease summaries, legal correspondence, and documents including estoppels, amendments, allowance/reimbursement letters, license agreements, and default notices.
  • Support timely collection of allowances, security deposits, and reimbursements.
  • Distribute billing statements, utility and insurance requests, and OpEx/tax reconciliations.
  • Provide ad-hoc project support to Real Estate Managers and Directors.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex lease terms, research questions accurately, and translate findings into clear, actionable summaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational ability and attention to detail across a high volume of concurrent work
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with asset and lease management software (Lucernex preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Lease management or retail real estate experience (preferred)

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency in MS Office Suite, and experience with asset and lease management software (Lucernex preferred).
