Senior Rail Project Engineer
Responsibilities
Applies broad knowledge of railroad engineering principles and practices to support design teams and junior engineers.
Provides a resource of railroad operational, and maintenance practices to design teams.
Works on projects of small size or portions of larger projects.
Supports preparation of written plans, reports and provides overall qc review of contract documents for compliance with AREMA, FTA, FRA requirements.
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- PE License is required.
- 10 years of experience, with a strong technical background in RR engineering and basic understanding of track design, signals, traction power and maintenance practices.
- Experience in transportation engineering, including inspection and/or design for freight rail or passenger transit facilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Local experience is preferred.
- A willingness to support business development activities.
- Experience working in a team environment.
Qualifications
Knowledgeable of AREMA track design standards and an understanding of signal system, OCS/Traction power requirements.
Prior experience with local transportation agencies and clients such as MTA, LIRR, Metro North, NJ Transit, MBTA, Amtrak and Freight railroads is highly desirable.
Skills

Pay
The projected range for this position is $144,550 to $185,850 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
