Senior Quality Engineer

As a Senior Quality Engineer at nVent Management Company, you will engage with a dedicated team striving for perfect quality throughout manufacturing, supporting the nVent Schroff business and aerospace and defense sectors. You will contribute significantly to quality advancement, supplier quality management, regulatory adherence, and ongoing development in a dynamic atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assess customer quality requirements and specifications in advance to guarantee alignment with aerospace, defense, and customer-specific standards prior to the start of production.
- Serve as the Quality representative in a Lean manufacturing environment, embedding "Quality at the Source" into all site processes.
- Support supplier quality activities and partner closely with suppliers to improve quality performance and resolve quality concerns.
- Incorporate quality tools such as FMEA, Quality Control Plans, SPC, FAI, PPAP, Metrics, and Product/Process Capability to guarantee quality is attained through process validation.
- Drive problem-solving initiatives for internal (NCMR), supplier quality, and external (RMA) issues by analyzing data from process monitoring, failure analysis, warranty claims, customer complaints, capability studies, and continuous improvement projects.
- Develop and direct effective corrective and preventive measures based on monitoring and assessing internal and external process inputs.
- Support the New Product Development team by applying predictive reliability and lessons learned to new products. Analyze data and perform reviews to establish acceptance criteria, specifications, and control limits.
- Apply statistical analysis and quality metrics to identify trends, reduce risk, and improve overall process performance.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality groups to ensure quality requirements are successfully incorporated into manufacturing processes.
- Provide mentorship and support to quality personnel, including working closely with the First Article Inspector and other quality team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Around 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality engineering environments, preferably within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Minitab, along with strong data analysis skills.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS), preferably Intelex or similar systems.
- Skilled in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification/experience preferred).
- Knowledge and demonstrated capability in applying and instructing Six Sigma, Lean tools, statistical methods, and quality system controls.
- Experience with supplier quality, auditing, corrective actions, and quality planning activities.
- Knowledge of aerospace, defense, and regulated quality management systems (AS9100 requirements and customer-specific requirements).

Pay
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Compensation Range: $83,500.00 - $155,200.00. Depending on the position offered, the employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
