Basic Qualifications

  • STEM degree at the Bachelor level or above with 5 years of professional experience, 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree, or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing complex engineering drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying rigorous quality testing and inspection methodologies to ensure mission success.
  • Prominent ability to plan and execute comprehensive Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) strategies.
  • Expert-level capability in utilizing causal analysis tools (e.g., Root Cause Analysis) to identify, analyze, and resolve technical or process-related issues.
  • Direct experience managing the identification, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming products/materials.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with particular emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for data management and reporting.

Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support Quality & Mission Success organization for our SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces - Global Logistics Support Services) contract based in Lexington, KY. This program is critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment. This position will support Rotary Wing Aviation Programs for aircraft modification and depot level repair.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze workflow processes and resolve process issues.
  • Perform AS9100 and process audits in the workplace.
  • - Facilitate root cause analysis and monitor associated corrective actions.
  • Perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of AS9100 audit techniques.
  • Experience with SAP - Quality and Production/Engineering.
  • Experience with aircraft modification/depot level work.
  • Experience in establishing performance metrics for identifying process improvement.
  • Basic experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) for all and advanced for mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in production floor level Quality support for processes and procedures for mechanical fabrication, machining and assembly.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
  • Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment.
  • Experience working in Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) environment.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Industry recognized quality systems such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulations.
