Senior Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, track, and provide statistical analysis, reports, and metrics for quality related activities.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications and confer with engineering staff to determine quality standards.
  • Prepare corrective action responses, Auditing over various departments, 8D problem solving for permanent corrective actions, and lead problem solving activities.
  • Manage internal and external customer drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents, responses, and data.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction & improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, or another related field) is required.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience as a quality engineer, aerospace industry preferred.
  • Six Sigma green belt with real world project experience is preferred.
  • 8D, or root cause analysis experience using statistical analysis tools.
  • Certification process experience (i.e., ISO9001:2008, AS9100/9110).
  • FAA Part 145, FAA Part 21, CAAC, CAA, Military.
  • Knowledge of QDAS system.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Minitab, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, OEM Customer Portals (Siemens, Rolls Royce, Safran, etc.).
  • AS13001/AS9117 Delegated Product Release Verification Training Certification.
