Senior Quality Control Technician

About the Role

This position is for an inspection technician supporting advanced manufacturing technologies. Under the leadership of quality technicians, CMM programmers, and quality specialists, this role will support inspection of additively manufactured and cold-sprayed parts. The role applies conventional and advanced methodologies to produce in-process and final inspection reports for machining, post-processing, and engineering staff. A working knowledge of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is essential. The work will primarily support government customers, with some industrial business also supported.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of additively manufactured and cold-sprayed parts using conventional and advanced methodologies.
• Create and run inspection programs using PC-DMIS.
• Operate Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM).
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Produce in-process and final inspection reports for machining, post-processing, and engineering teams.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to correct and prevent mistakes.
• Adhere to lab policies and procedures in a lab environment.

Requirements

T3 Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 10 years of directly related experience with manufacturing, inspection, quality control, or quality system development/management in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience creating and running inspection programs using PC-DMIS (Hexagon 201 training at a minimum).
• Experience operating a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong organizational and collaboration skills.
• Effective verbal communication skills with team members at all levels.
• Attention to detail.
• U.S. Citizenship (due to federal government contract requirements).

T4 Minimum Qualifications:

• All requirements listed for T3.
• A minimum of 12 years of directly related experience with manufacturing, inspection, quality control, or quality system development/management in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Quality Control Technology, or a related field.
• Certificate in Quality Control or willingness to obtain through this role.
• Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as casting, CNC machining, forging, heat treat, and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills at all levels of an organization.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven problem-solving and time management skills.
• Ability and flexibility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with various CAD/CAM software packages.
