Responsibilities

• Creates a test approach, identifies scope of testing with a risk-based approach for each feature or scope of work in a project effort.
• Identifies test environments, dependencies, constraints, prioritizes test cases, and schedules testing time.
• Sets up software and hardware in the test lab according to specifications.
• Ensures test results are accurate, thorough, and properly documented.
• Communicates test results and coordinates logistics with Systems Analysts, Developers, and other key IT staff and leadership as necessary.
• Documents problems or discrepancies between expected and actual results.
• Performs quality assurance testing on all work and conducts detailed analysis on test results.
• Certifies applications for release to the next testing stage or to the production environment.
• Generates and distributes periodic status reports for testing.
• Sets up and executes complex scripts independently.
• Sets up test data beds based on specific test conditions.
• Creates and executes moderately complex SQL queries.
• Executes automated test scripts.
• Writes and coordinates the resolution of system defects.
• Ensures appropriate hand-offs and re-testing.
• Provides technical guidance to other IT Testing Specialists.
• Participates in requirements gathering sessions or solicits information on incomplete requirements.
• Participates in facilitation and coordination of user acceptance testing.
• Designs tests to aid learning and mitigate risks.
• Works with developers to create automated tests.
• Works with business analysts and business stakeholders to undertake exploratory testing.
• Ensures stories contain specific acceptance test conditions that communicate objectives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of performance and security vulnerability testing is a plus.
• Assists the product owner in coming up with acceptance criteria for user stories.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of SDLC
• Strong knowledge of STLC
• Strong knowledge of Testing concepts
• Thorough understanding of the business process(s) and flows involved in the system capabilities being tested
• Thoroughly understands As-Is and To-Be business processes to understand what's changing
• Ability to communicate with the business in business language and with developers in technical language
• Strong PC skills and demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite products
• Experience with testing management tools: Automated (Selenium, Robotium, TestComplete, QTP, SoapUI, Visual Studio Test Pro, etc.), Manual (Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Jenkins, TestLink, Mantis, Postman, Firefox, etc.)
• Able to read logical and physical data models and understand the relationship between various tables
• Able to clearly identify data needs and requirements for the respective test efforts
• Able to execute automated test scripts as needed
• Able to read various system input/output files; XML, Flat, 834, 835, etc.
• Able to create unique test scenarios

Preferred Qualifications

• Variety of domain experience; Health Care, Financial, etc.
• Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodology
• Specific tools, languages, and specialty skills may vary

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field or relevant work experience
• 5-8 years of professional experience in an IT related field, preferably in a development or testing environment
• Prior experience with SAP CALLIDUS sales compensation system required
• Expertise in software development life cycle (SDLC), software testing life cycle (STLC), and QA methodologies
• Proficient knowledge in Agile tracking tools like Rally, JIRA etc
• Strong understanding of analyst/tester role in agile methodology is a must
• Experience creating and managing test data is a must
• Experience writing complex queries (in SQL) to analyze and test multiple data sources
