Role Description

The Senior QA Manager for Data Roles is responsible for leading the quality assurance efforts related to data management, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance across all projects. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, developing testing strategies, and overseeing the execution of data quality assurance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies for data management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align QA activities with business objectives.
  • Design and maintain QA plans and test cases for data-related projects.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure data quality and QA performance.
  • Ensure thorough testing of data processes, integrations, and transformations.
  • Monitor data quality across all systems and identify any discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and oversee data validation and verification processes.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand data requirements and quality standards.
  • Communicate QA findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to discuss data quality issues and resolutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for data QA.
  • Stay updated on the latest QA methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for the QA team and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed QA reports and documentation for senior management and audit purposes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all QA activities, test results, and defect resolutions.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 8+ years of QA experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management level
  • Proven capability in leading and managing teams of QA professionals, both Individual Contributors and Leads, directly embedded with the rest of the development team
  • Proficiency with QA tools and software, such as SQL, Python, and QA automation frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including mentorship, planning technical roadmaps, making trade-offs, and prioritization
  • Ability to quickly understand complex tech stacks and find solutions that complement/extend rather than bypass existing investments
  • Expert-level understanding of KPIs and Metrics that inform quality in products, people, and processes
  • Deep understanding of risk, specifically how to identify, classify, report on, and manage it
  • Proficient communication skills at the individual and team level
