Location: Pennington, New Jersey (Hybrid – minimum three days per week onsite)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead the data quality strategy for critical trading applications. This role involves providing quality assurance leadership for modernization initiatives, owning the testing approach for shared services, and acting as a key stakeholder for production readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the data quality strategy for QzTrades, ensuring consistent behavior and high reliability across Global Markets applications.
  • Provide QA leadership for modernization initiatives within the Quartz Financial Stack, driving test coverage and automation.
  • Own the quality assurance approach for trade horizontal services and shared components, with accountability for integration and regression testing.
  • Lead testing and validation of Python-based backend services, including API testing, data integrity checks, and resiliency validation.
  • Partner with trading, product, development, and DevOps leadership to assess delivery risk and influence design decisions.
  • Establish and enforce QA best practices across the SDLC, including test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality gates.
  • Act as a key stakeholder for production readiness, ensuring operational resilience and stability for mission-critical trading workflows.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience validating and assuring the quality of production systems built with Python-based backends and React frontends.
  • A strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including object-oriented design, microservices architectures, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
  • Proven experience testing distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and real-time data pipelines.
  • Skilled in defining and executing test plans, test automation strategies, and quality gates for agile delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Quartz experience, including familiarity with Quartz components and integration patterns.
  • Experience in Global Markets, trading systems, or other financial services domains.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle, risk, market data, or pricing systems.
