Peak Performers has partnered with a State Superior Court to assist in their search for a hybrid Senior QA Automation Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will test all aspects of a software solution, balancing deep functional analysis with robust technical automation. You will drive both functional testing and automation infrastructure expansion for a state-of-the-art web-based judicial case management system.
Responsibilities
- Perform functional, black box, integration, system, ADA/WCAG, and UAT testing across assigned projects.
- Execute both manual and automated UI testing within the same test cycle.
- Test web services, including SOAP, REST, and JSON integrations.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test cases, traceability matrices, and structured test scenarios.
- Build and maintain POM-based automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, and C#/Java.
- Write SQL queries to support data verification and back-end testing.
- Use Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, and Visual Studio for test automation and source control.
- Translate complex business and functional requirements into reusable test cases and regression coverage.
- Document defects clearly and provide reproducible technical steps for development teams.
- Review automated test reports to distinguish application defects from script maintenance issues.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage and timely delivery.
- Use AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Copilot for DevOps to support test case development and automation.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while serving as both a test analyst and automation developer.
- Create test plans and define measures for evaluating software quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Will accept 5 extra years of combined experience in both software functional analysis/testing and test automation engineering in lieu.
- 5-10 years in functional testing required.
- 5 years in automated testing required.
- Advanced experience in functional, black box, integration, system, ADA/WCAG, and UAT testing.
- Experience with UI and automated testing strategies, including SOAP, REST, and JSON web services.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong test case design skills, including traceability matrices and complex business rules.
- Experience building and maintaining POM-based automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, and C#/Java.
- Experience writing SQL for data verification and back-end testing.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Git, and Visual Studio source control.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and self-management skills.
- Ability to create test plans, document defects clearly, and review automated test results.
- Experience using AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Copilot for DevOps to support testing and automation.
Pay
$55.19/hour (W2 contract)
Schedule
- 1-year contract
