Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in both Functional Testing and Test Automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing automation frameworks, validating APIs, performing database testing, and delivering high-quality software in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Functional Testing: Analyse business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications; create comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and test cases; perform Functional, Integration, System, End-to-End, Regression, Smoke, and UAT testing; validate application workflows and business rules across web and API layers; collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to identify requirements and gaps.
• Automation Testing: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks; build and execute automated test suites using Playwright and Selenium WebDriver; develop reusable automation scripts using JavaScript / TypeScript; integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; analyse automation results and troubleshoot test failures.
• API Testing & Automation: Create and execute API test cases using Postman; validate REST API request/response payloads, status codes, headers, and authentication; develop API automation suites using JavaScript; perform contract and integration testing; validate API error handling and performance.
• Database Testing: Write and execute complex SQL queries for backend validation; verify data integrity, transformations, and business rules; validate API-to-database and UI-to-database data consistency; perform data reconciliation and root-cause analysis.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using standard defect management tools; perform root-cause analysis of recurring issues; collaborate with development teams to ensure timely defect resolution.
• Agile & Team Collaboration: Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Reviews, and Retrospectives; contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives; mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation/testing best practices.

AI-Assisted Testing

• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or GitHub Copilot for test case creation, test data generation, automation development, test optimization, and QA productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in QA / Test Automation Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Strong API testing experience with Postman and REST APIs
• Strong SQL and database testing experience
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
