Senior PV Field Tech

What You Will Do
- Respond to trouble tickets in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repair activities on PV systems
- Troubleshoot system issues, including inverters, arrays, and communications equipment
- Service and update networking, DAS, and related hardware/software
- Develop work scopes for repairs that require subcontracted support
- Review preventative maintenance reports, identify follow-up corrective actions, and partner with the Regional Service Manager on execution plans
- Maintain detailed service documentation, including parts, tools, mileage, time, and expenses using company systems

What You’ll Bring
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting commercial, industrial, or utility-scale PV systems (installation only or residential only experience is not sufficient for this role)
- Strong understanding of electrical and safety standards, including NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA 10
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose PV system performance issues, including root cause analysis across arrays, inverters, and communication systems
- Experience monitoring system performance data and identifying underperformance, faults, and outages
- Working knowledge of commissioning, maintenance, and repair of solar generation systems, including networking and DAS/SCADA components
- Able to work independently in the field while maintaining strong communication with clients, peers, and leadership, including clear documentation of findings and recommendations
- Experience working within O&M or performance-based service agreements, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and site access requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical findings and recommendations
Additional Details
- Field-based role requiring frequent travel (90% (day travel), with up to 50% overnight stays) to client sites, primarily within Illinois, with occasional support in MN and WI and other regions if operational needs require support
- Company vehicle provided; valid U.S. driver’s license + clean driving record required
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
- Able to work in a field environment, including rooftops and exposure to varying weather conditions
- Could involve some lifting / up to 50 lbs and perform physical field work
- Must meet attendance expectations and manage multiple assignments with accuracy
Pay
Hourly Range: $42.00 - $57.00 USD hourly
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
