Senior Purchasing Agent

About the role

Responsible for cost analysis, negotiating, purchasing, and delivery of all products within an approved budget. Manage an effective project purchasing process to ensure that requirements are purchased and delivered within required time lines. Effectively manage multiple complex projects with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Process all requisitions and purchase orders
• Initiate change orders to purchase orders
• Generate purchase orders for property level commitments as part of Capital Purchases/Plan and other FF&E purchase orders as required
• Handle and resolve vendor disputes

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree preferred
• Five to eight years of purchasing experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Timberline a plus)
• Strong oral and written communications, and presentation skills
• Exceptional customer service skills and follow through
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a standard office environment
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (6-8 hours a day)
• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday
• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies)
• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles)
• Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset
