Senior Purchasing Agent

About the role

Lawrence Equipment is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimize procurement operations. This role supports engineering and production by sourcing and purchasing a wide range of industrial components including motors, drives, electrical and electronic parts, fabricated materials, and raw metals.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials
• Cook with engineering and production planning teams to optimize supply chain efficiency
• Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing context
• Strong knowledge of logistics, production planning, and supply chain management principles
• Familiarity with materials management processes and best practices
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
• Experience working with MRP systems
• Experience with purchasing raw metals, electronics, and consumables

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 30 - 35 USD per hour (El Monte HQ)
