Senior Pump Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, package/prepare for shipment API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment
- Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements
- Monitor progress of repairs and assign and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs
- Serve as one of the most experienced tradesman in the shop
- Set the positive leadership tone and behavior
- Interact with customers in a positive way showing them how DXP cares about their business
- Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work
Qualifications
- 10 + years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with previous experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and other related rotating equipment
- Prepared Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps, creating details, and making technical decisions
- In-depth understanding of API 610, and other applicable standards
- Ability to read pump sectional, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals
- Disassembly, inspection, ability to write up a detailed rotating equipment report to all necessary repairs and or replacement parts needed, Ex: assembly prep, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of assembled equipment, painting of finished repair and final inspection
- Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools
- Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment
- Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings, mechanical seal removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing preferred
- Ability to work with multiple and competing priorities in a fast paced environment
- Able to achieve results with minimal supervision
Additional Information
Pay: $42.00 - $55.00hr, DOE
Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat, with possible exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.
