Senior Public Health Nutritionist

About the role

The Fairfax County Health Department is seeking a WIC Nutritionist to support the day-to-day operations of assigned clinics. This position involves planning and managing clinic activities, analyzing caseload reports, monitoring compliance, providing nutrition services, and facilitating community outreach.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages daily clinic activities (scheduling, staffing).
• Analyzes monthly caseload reports to determine staffing, equipment, and clinic supplies.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal WIC guidelines.
• Provides nutrition services to clients eligible for the WIC program.
• Makes referrals to other service providers based on client needs.
• Trains staff on nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion.
• Fosters collaborations and partnerships with community programs and organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
• One year of experience as a nutritionist.
• Registration as a Dietician by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Valid driver's license.
• CPR and AED certifications.
